چکیده

The worldwide advent of new laser facilities makes possible the investigation nuclear response to a very strong electromagnetic field. In this paper, we inquire on excitation one most conspicuous collective excitations, giant dipole resonance, within hydrodynamical model for proton-neutron fluid mixture placed in Skyrme mean-field and interacting with an external ultra-strong variables approach are: proton neutron displacement (velocity) fields, density fluctuations, fluctuations electric field due coupling dynamical distortions baryonic system (electro-magneto-hydrodynamical effect). We point out occurrence multiresonance structure absorption cross-section.

Damping Rates of Hot Giant Dipole Resonances

The damping rate of hot giant dipole resonances (GDR) is investigated. Besides Landau damping we consider collisions and density fluctuations as contributions to the damping of GDR. Within the nonequilibrium Green’s function method we derive a non-Markovian kinetic equation. The linearization of the latter one leads to complex dispersion relations. The complex solution provides the centroid ene...

Pygmy and Giant Dipole Resonances in Sn

We report on first results from dipole-strength measurements in the region of unstable nuclei around Sn; experimental details were presented earlier [1]. In brief, such studies are motivated by theoretical predictions of multipole distributions in exotic nuclei differing much from that observed in stable nuclei; aditional strength near the neutron separation threshold, moreover, may have conseq...

Coulomb Excitation of Double Giant Dipole Resonances

We implement the Brink–Axel hypothesis for the excitation of the double giant dipole resonance (DGDR): The background states which couple to the one–phonon giant dipole resonance are themselves capable of dipole absorption. These states (and the ones which couple to the two–phonon resonance) are described in terms of the Gaussian Orthogonal Ensemble of random matrices. We use second–order time–...

Excited ions in intense femtosecond laser pulses: laser-induced recombination.

Electron-ion recombination in a laser-induced electron recollision is of fundamental importance as the underlying mechanism responsible for the generation of high-harmonic radiation and hence for the production of attosecond pulse trains in the extreme ultraviolet and soft x-ray spectral regions. By using an ion beam target, remotely prepared to be partially in long-lived excited states, the re...

Far infrared giant dipole resonances in neutral quantum dots

A resonance behaviour of the far infrared absorption probability at a frequency∼ N1/4 is predicted for clusters of N electron-hole pairs (2 ≤ N ≤ 110) confined in disk-shaped quantum dots. For radially symmetric dots, the absorption is dominated by a Giant Dipole Resonance, which accounts for more than 98 % of the energy-weighted photoabsorption sum rule.
